- Ist of all check the model number of Galaxy A5. It must be SM-A500FU.
- Backup all the important data from your phone. It will help you to get the device back in working condition.
- Enable USB debugging mode in the setting of your phone. This will be done by going to Setting >> Developer option >> USB Debugging and enable it.
- Charge your phone up to 60% to avoid the power issue.

Steps to Update Samsung Galaxy A5 to 6.0 Marshmallow
Step 1:
Ist of all from the above links download Cyanogen Mod 13 Custom Rom and Gapps in your PC. Don’t extract them.
Step 2:
Connect your Galaxy A5 with the PC with the help of data cable and copy the downloaded files to the root directory folder.
Step 3:
After copying the file disconnect your phone from the PC. Turn Off your phone
Step 4:
Now for going to recovery mode. Press and hold the Power + Home + Volume Up buttons for some time until you get the Samsung logo on the screen.
Step 5:
In the recovery mode select the ”wipe data/factory reset” option. Then tap o the Yes to confirm the execution. Now go to CWM Recovery main menu.
Step 6:
Now select wipe cache partition and after that select wipe Dalvik Cache under advance option to perform Dalvik cache wiping.
Step 7:
Now install zip from SD Card, choose zip from SD Card, Select ”Rom.zip” file and then select OK to start the flashing process.
Similarly, you can flash ”Gapps” as above.
Step 8:
After completing the process. Go back, and choose the reboot System to reboot the phone.
