Steps:

  1. On PC download TWRP 3.0 recovery package for Galaxy A3 from HERE.
  2. After downloading extract these files on your PC.
  3. Now download ODIN v3.09 on your PC from HERE.
  4. Turn off your Galaxy A3, its time ti enters into download mode. For this press and hold Power+Volume Down+Home buttons at the same time for few seconds until you will see a Samsung name logo and after that a blue screen, press volume Up button to confirm.
  5. On you PC launch Odin v3.09. Connect your device with PC. (Remember your device must b on download mode)
  6. After connecting the smartphone to PC ID:COM box on Odin will turn blue. That’s mean your Galaxy A3 properly connected with PC.
  7. In Odin select AP or PDA, select the extracted tar.md5 file package which we have downloaded in step 1.
  8. Make sure Auto Reboot and F.Rest options are checked (√) and all others are unticked.
  9. Now simply click on Start to begin the flashing process.
  10. After completing press and hold power+home+both volume buttons until the screen goes back. Release the only volume down button continue holding power+home+volume up buttons.
  11. Now reboot the device by selecting the reboot option in TWRP custom recovery.

That’s it. Now your device is ready for the custom upgrade to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
