    Huawei P10

The Chinese phone maker Huawei is all set to release its two latest smartphones Huawei P10 and P10 Plus in Australia on May 25. The P10 will be available at Vodafone, Optus and Virgin Mobile for $899, whereas P10 Plus will be accessible from selected retailers at a price of $1099.

These two Android handsets will be Huawei’s first-ever phones to feature Leica-powered sensors on both front and back of the phone. So, it is obvious that the focus for these smartphones is on the cameras. Read on to know more about the specifications of the two much-awaited handsets.

Huawei P10 and P10 Plus Specifications

From the fabulous camera features to sleek design and a whopping memory, both Huawei P10 and P10 Plus have much to offer. We have put together the specifications and the major differences between the two smartphones. Take a look!

    Design and Display

Huawei P10 and P10 Plus are almost similar in design and the only dissimilarity is their size. The P10 measures 145.9 x 69.3 millimeters, while P10 Plus sits at 153.5 x 74.2 millimeters. Both smartphones are 7mm thin but P10 Plus is 0.71 ounces heavier than Huawei P10.

The P10 has a 5.1 inches display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and P10 Plus has a 5.5 inches screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution. The standard P10 sits at 431 pixels per inch, while Plus comes in at 534 pixels per inch.

The Huawei P10 comes with dual Summarit lenses, one of which is 20 megapixels monochrome sensor and the other is a 12 megapixels color camera. Resultantly, the user gets more detailed and in-depth shots. The P10 Plus has Leica Summilux sensors with the same megapixel count that provide brighter and sharper pictures. While P10 offers a f/2.2 aperture, P10 Plus comes with a f/1.8 aperture.

The two devices flaunt dynamic illumination functionality that can track lighting, adjust shutter speed and white balance using an auto-sensing algorithm. The camera features also include geo-tagging, face detection, HDR, Panorama, and touch-focus.

    Processor and Storage

Both P10 and P10 Plus feature the same processor, HiSilicon Kirin 960. The P10 comes with a 4GB RAM with either 32GB or 64GB of storage, whereas P10 Plus comes with either 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is also a microSD card slot for secondary storage in both devices.

The two devices feature the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, the Android 7.0 Nougat. Furthermore, both devices tout Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 software that offers some great features including better photo tagging, enhanced machine learning and video generating software. The Android 7.0 also offers a few amazing features that facilitate multitasking.

    Battery Life

The method to charge these two handsets is same as both feature Huawei’s SuperCharge technology. However, wireless charging is not offered by these devices, and it is a bit sad.

The P10 comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 3200mAh battery and P10 Plus touts a non-removable Li-Ion 3750mAh battery. It seems that Plus model has a better battery life but it should not forget that P10 Plus has a larger and higher resolution screen which will consume more battery that the standard P10. So, it can be assumed that the battery life of both devices is almost same.

When it comes to the sturdiness of these upcoming smartphones, they are impossible to tell apart. According to the reports, both handsets are water-resistant but the level of water-resisting is not yet specified. However, their metal body and inclusion of Gorilla Glass 5 should make them able to bear up a few drops.

Even though both Huawei P10 and P10 Plus are durable, the user should be cautious about them. Also, we suggest you buy a protective case to enhance its durability.

As mentioned above, both handsets will be available to purchase in Australia on May 25, and later on in Asia and much of Europe. Unfortunately, the two smartphones will not make their way to the United States.

While the Huawei P10 will be available in Graphite Black, Dazzling Blue, and Prestige Gold color, the P10 Plus will only be available in Graphite Black.
